Vampiri

Vampiri is a legendary Serbian rock band from Belgrade, formed in the late 1980s and rising to prominence in the early 1990s. Despite their name’s grim connotation, their music—equal parts nostalgic and energetic—captivated a youthful audience with its doo-wop and rockabilly influences, prominent vocal harmonies, and retro 1950s flair. Their debut album, Rama lama ding dong (1991), featured a cover of the famous American track, quickly followed by successful releases like Tačno u ponoć and Be-be, with songs featured in the beloved film We Are Not Angels becoming regional classics. In the mid-1990s, the band evolved, pushing creative boundaries with albums like Plavi grad and Monkey Food, exploring more diverse rock styles. After disbanding in the late '90s, frontman Aleksandar "Era" Eraković revived Vampiri in 2012. The band made their long-awaited comeback with the album Letimo in 2022, proving that their dynamic presence and musical spark remain intact. Known for vibrant performances, thoughtful production, and charisma on stage, Vampiri have cemented their legacy as a cult band with enduring appeal.
