The Stone Lapidary Collection of the National Museum Zadar encompasses a rich collection of architectural elements and sculptures from the 12th to the 19th century. It displays reliefs, inscriptions, coats of arms of Zadar families, statues, and other stone fragments. The majority of the collection is housed in the open space, in the museum's courtyard, where various lapidary pieces are exhibited, including the reliefs of St. Krševan and parts of Renaissance balconies. The collection provides insight into the artistic and cultural values of the city of Zadar over the centuries. Although there were plans to cover and systematically arrange the exhibits, many pieces are still exposed to the elements. The collection is an important monument to Zadar’s history and identity.
