Snow Patrol is a British alternative rock band formed in 1994 in Dundee, Scotland. Initially known as Shrug and later as Polarbear, the band adopted the name Snow Patrol in 1997. Founding members included Gary Lightbody, Mark McClelland, and Michael Morrison. Their music combines emotional melodies, introspective lyrics, and strong guitar arrangements, creating a signature sound that brought them worldwide popularity.
Their debut album, Songs for Polarbears (1998.), showcased their potential, while the third album, Final Straw (2003.), brought international fame with hits like "Run" and "Spitting Games". Their latest album, The Forest Is the Path (2024.), marks their return after a six-year hiatus and represents a new phase of their career with a modern sound.
