Slavica Ćukteraš was born on January 28, 1985, in Šabac. She began her musical journey early—learning violin and clarinet and delivering her first public performance at the age of six.
Her professional breakthrough came in 2004 when she became a finalist in the first season of Zvezde Granda, achieving sixth place. That same year she released her debut single "Život mi oduzmi" and followed up in 2005 with her debut album Nema pravila, which featured hits like "Votka", "Zvaćeš je mojim imenom", and "Prevari me".
Her second album, Ćiribu, ćiriba (2006), delivered tracks including “Mrgud” and “Adrenalin”. In 2008, she performed at the Grand Festival with “Ja te samo podsećam na nju”, again reaching sixth place, and released the album Exclusiva. After releasing Nevreme in 2011, she stepped away from the public eye.
Her comeback began in 2015 with the song “Prosjak”, followed by hits such as “Da bih s’ tobom ostala” and “Budi samo moj” in 2018. Recent releases include “Za kurvara” (2021), “Sve će biti okej” (2022), and in 2025 “Deset godina – alternativa” and “Krvav dijamant”.
Slavica has openly shared the reasons behind her withdrawal—namely a need for privacy and emotional replenishment. Nearly a decade later, she returned to music, saying it never left her—it simply waited quietly within. She also spoke candidly about personal struggles involving divorce, an arduous custody battle, and depression, emphasizing the support of her mother and her enduring connection to music as both refuge and expression.
Today, Slavica Ćukteraš stands as a pop-folk icon whose voice resonates with raw emotion and authenticity, continuing to captivate an audience that values sincerity.
