Slash, born Saul Hudson on July 23, 1965 in London, was raised in Los Angeles and earned his nickname "Slash" due to his restless spirit. He began playing guitar at 14 and would practice up to 12 hours a day.
He gained worldwide fame as the lead guitarist for Guns N' Roses. Their debut album Appetite for Destruction (1987) delivered massive hits such as "Sweet Child o' Mine," "Welcome to the Jungle," and "Paradise City," securing Slash’s place among the most iconic guitarists in rock history. His expressive playing style, combined with a distinctive look—top hat, sunglasses, and curly hair—became instantly recognizable.
After departing Guns N’ Roses in the mid-1990s, Slash formed Snakepit and later the supergroup Velvet Revolver. In the 2010s, he launched a solo career with high-profile collaborators like Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, and Fergie. Alongside vocalist Myles Kennedy and his band The Conspirators, he released acclaimed albums such as Apocalyptic Love, World on Fire, and Living the Dream.
In 2016, he reunited with Guns N' Roses for the massively successful "Not In This Lifetime" tour—one of the highest-grossing tours ever. In 2024, he released Orgy of the Damned, a blues cover album featuring icons like Iggy Pop, Billy Gibbons, and Brian Johnson—a heartfelt tribute to his musical roots.
Beyond music, Slash is family-focused. He has two sons: London, a drummer following his father’s path, and Cash, a hip-hop producer and digital artist carving his own creative route.
