Sane is a Zagreb-based pop-rock band formed in 1995 under unusual circumstances—in the Indian village of Puttaparthi, where Canadian producer Steven Harmer discovered two 17-year-olds composing their own music in a park. Harmer brought them to Canada to record their debut album Antelupiulla, which was met with critical praise in Croatia and ended up second on Radio 101's annual chart.
The band is known for its eclectic live performances, mixing original songs with creative covers of both local and international hits. Their repertoire covers musical decades from the 1950s to the present, spanning genres from rock and grunge to hardcore, drum & bass, house, metal, and pop—each delivered with an urban rock edge. Memorable covers include Adele’s "Someone Like You," Whitney Houston’s "I Will Always Love You," and hits by Dino Dvornik, all reinvented with a raw, high-energy twist.
Currently, Sane features Nikola Marjanović (vocals, guitar, double bass), Stjepan “Drito Konj” Krznarić (drums, vocals, guitar, bass), and Sebastian Jurić (bass, vocals, keyboards, violin). The band released the English-language album About Time in 2014, following their participation in the Croatian preselection for Eurovision (Dora 2009) with the song "Dečko." They have also performed at numerous prominent domestic festivals and events.
Returning after a hiatus, Sane reignited their creative journey with fresh music and line-up. Their dynamic, genre-fluid approach, humor, and ability to sound world-class make Sane one of the rare Croatian bands with truly global appeal.
