Ryan Harris is a Canadian musician and filmmaker creating music from a makeshift bedroom studio in Whistler. His DIY approach defines his artistic identity, with much of his work written, recorded, and produced independently, giving his music a raw and authentic character.
He spent his early years living and surfing in Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, experiences that shaped both his lifestyle and creative perspective. At the age of 15, his family settled back in Canada, where he began to more seriously pursue music.
Ryan made his live debut in 2023, opening for Ocie Elliott at their sold-out hometown show. His audience often overlaps with fans of indie-folk artists such as Oliver Hazard, Hazlett, and Hollow Coves, placing his sound firmly within the modern indie-folk landscape.
That same year, he was invited to open for Dermot Kennedy at Rogers Arena, but missed the opportunity due to being out of service while traveling in Mexico—an anecdote that reflects his spontaneous and unconventional journey.
In 2025, Ryan reached a new milestone by completing two sold-out headline tours across Europe and Canada, marking the beginning of his international touring career.
His music draws inspiration from artists like Ben Howard, John Butler Trio, and Jack Johnson, blending warm acoustic textures with introspective songwriting.
Despite growing recognition, Ryan Harris remains grounded in his passion for creating music, maintaining a genuine and personal connection with his audience through his honest and unfiltered artistic approach.
