Rage Against The Machine

Rage Against the Machine is an American rock band formed in 1991 in Los Angeles. The band consists of vocalist Zack de la Rocha, guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford, and drummer Brad Wilk. Their sound combines heavy metal, rap, punk, and funk, with highly political and socially conscious lyrics that criticize authoritarianism, capitalism, and injustice. They released their debut album in 1992, quickly gaining cult status with powerful songs like "Killing in the Name," which became an anthem against police brutality. Their follow-up albums Evil Empire and The Battle of Los Angeles further established them as one of the most influential bands of the 1990s. In 2000, they released a covers album called Renegades, after which they disbanded due to creative differences. The members continued their musical careers in other projects, including the band Audioslave. Rage Against the Machine reunited in 2007 and performed until 2011, announcing a comeback in 2019 that was postponed due to the pandemic and the vocalist’s injury. In 2024, the band ceased activity again. Rage Against the Machine is known for their energetic live performances and powerful political messages that have left a lasting mark on music and culture.
