Radojka Šverko

Radojka Šverko was born on April 9, 1948, in Pazin. She is a renowned Croatian singer recognized for her rich alto voice and a music career spanning over six decades. She grew up in Buzet, where she showed early interest in music by singing in the school choir and playing in tamburica and flute orchestras. She began her professional career in 1967 and gained significant recognition after performing at the Split Festival in 1970 with the song "Kud plovi ovaj brod." Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, she frequently performed at various festivals across the former Yugoslavia and internationally, earning numerous awards and honors. Her music includes genres such as pop, pop rock, jazz, and church music. Apart from music, Radojka Šverko has also worked as a film actress. Despite personal and health challenges, she remained dedicated to her musical career and is considered one of the most important and beloved singers in the Croatian music scene.
