Psihomodo Pop

Psihomodo Pop is a Croatian rock band formed in 1982 in Zagreb. Their musical style combines elements of punk rock, pop-punk, garage, and alternative rock. They are known for energetic live performances and provocative stage presence. Frontman Davor Gobac stands out with his eccentric style and stage charisma. The band originally started under the name Neron, but soon changed to Psihomodo Pop, inspired by the album The Psychomodo and Iggy Pop. Their debut album Godina zmaja (Year of the Dragon) released in 1988 brought them initial recognition, while the 1990 album Sexy magazin further cemented their status in the former Yugoslav music scene. After the breakup of Yugoslavia, Psihomodo Pop continued to operate in independent Croatia. They released several successful albums, including Tko je ubio Mickey Mousea? (Who Killed Mickey Mouse?) and Srebrne svinje (Silver Pigs), showing their musical evolution towards a more alternative sound. During the 1990s, they became known for socially and politically engaged songs that became anthems for many. In the new millennium, the band has remained active, releasing albums that received positive reviews and awards. Their music is still recognized for its energy, sincerity, and unique blend of rock styles. Psihomodo Pop remains one of the most important and influential bands in the Croatian music scene.
