Post Malone, born Austin Richard Post on July 4, 1995, in Syracuse, New York, grew up in Grapevine, Texas. Immersed in music during childhood—thanks to his DJ father—he discovered guitar through playing Guitar Hero. After a brief college stint, he moved to Los Angeles and began producing his own music.
His breakthrough came in 2015 with the viral hit “White Iverson,” earning him a record deal with Republic Records. His debut studio album, Stoney (2016), solidified his rise with tracks like “Congratulations.” His success continued with Beerbongs & Bentleys (2018) and Hollywood’s Bleeding (2019), giving him global hits such as “Rockstar,” “Sunflower,” and “Circles.”
In the early 2020s, Malone shifted his musical direction. Twelve Carat Toothache (2022) revealed deeper emotions through songs like “One Right Now” and “I Like You.” His 2023 self-titled album Austin introduced synth-pop and rock influences, with no featured artists. In 2024, he released F-1 Trillion, marking a full transition into country music with collaborations including Dolly Parton and Morgan Wallen. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200, his third to do so.
To date, Post Malone has released six studio albums and continues to blend hip-hop, pop, rock, and country. He has sold over 80 million units and holds the record for nine diamond-certified songs—one of the most for any solo artist. He remains one of today's fastest-growing and genre-defying superstars.
