Passenger

Passenger, born Michael David Rosenberg on May 17, 1984, in Brighton, England, is an English singer-songwriter and musician. He began classical guitar at a young age and started writing songs in his mid-teens. At 16, he left school to pursue music. In 2003, he formed the band Passenger, releasing their debut album “Wicked Man's Rest” in 2007. After the band split in 2009, Rosenberg continued solo under the name Passenger. He survived on busking across England and Australia, self-financing albums and steadily building a devoted fanbase. A watershed moment came in 2012 with the global hit “Let Her Go,” topping charts in many countries and earning billions of YouTube views. Since then, he has released a prolific string of studio albums — including All the Little Lights, Whispers, Runaway, Patchwork (recorded during lockdown with proceeds donated), Songs for the Drunk and Broken Hearted, and Birds That Flew and Ships That Sailed. Known for his poetic storytelling, warm vocals, and intimate style, he continues to connect deeply with audiences — even in stadiums, his performances feel personal. Based in Brighton, an Arsenal FC fan, Rosenberg’s career is marked by sincerity, humility, and the rare balance of widespread success with artistic authenticity.
