Of Mice & Men is an American rock band formed in 2009 in Costa Mesa. The band is known for blending metalcore, post-hardcore, and alternative metal, gaining a strong international following over the years.
The group was founded by vocalist Austin Carlile and bassist Jaxin Hall, later joined by guitarists Phil Manansala and Alan Ashby, along with drummer Valentino Arteaga. Early in their career, they gained attention through social media platforms, which helped them quickly build a fanbase.
Their self-titled debut album Of Mice & Men was released in 2010 and established them within the metalcore scene. Their second album, The Flood (2011), further expanded their popularity with a sound that combined heavy breakdowns and melodic hooks. After the departure of Austin Carlile, bassist Aaron Pauley took over as lead vocalist, marking a new chapter for the band.
Over the years, they have released several studio albums, including Restoring Force, Cold World, Defy, Earthandsky, and Echo. Their musical style has evolved from a heavier metalcore approach toward a more melodic and accessible sound while maintaining emotional intensity and lyrical depth.
