Miley Ray Cyrus, born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She is the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus, and grew up on her family’s farm near Nashville. Her childhood nickname "Smiley" evolved into "Miley," and she legally changed her name in 2008.
She began her acting career as a child, appearing in an episode of her father's TV series "Doc" and in Tim Burton’s film "Big Fish." However, she gained international fame for her role as Miley Stewart in Disney’s "Hannah Montana," which aired from 2006 to 2011. The series became a global phenomenon, and Miley became a teen icon.
After the series ended, Miley launched her solo music career. Her debut album "Meet Miley Cyrus" was released in 2007, followed by the successful album "Breakout" in 2008.
