MICO

Miguel Veloso, stage name MICO, was born on December 6, 2002. He is a Filipino-Canadian indie-pop/punk musician and songwriter based in Toronto. He emerged in 2019 with the single Who Do You Love, and in 2020 released his breakout EP 21st Century Heartbreak. His musical roots lie in his father’s record collection, and he first gained recognition performing in Discord voice chats. In addition to his solo work, Miguel plays the character Telemachus in the musical project EPIC: The Musical, merging his musical and theatrical talents. On social media platforms like TikTok he has built a devoted following, sharing both his music and personal narrative. Miguel’s sound explores themes of love, identity, and inner struggle — he moves fluidly between emotional vulnerability and driven performance. As a songwriter-artist, he crafts a path that transcends singular genre labels, combining indie, pop-punk and experimental approaches with a deeply personal voice.
