Mayales is a music group from Zagreb, founded in 1993, known for blending psychedelic rock, funk, jazz, and modern pop. Their early performances gained cult status, and their debut album Svima želim raj za sve, released in 1999, became a milestone in Croatian music.
After a long break, the band returned in 2012 with the album 2, marking a mature artistic reinvention. With layered production and a polished alternative pop sound, the album marked a strong comeback and revitalized their position on the scene.
In 2017, Mayales released Simbol za Sunce, praised for its experimental nature, expressive lyrics, and atmospheric sound. Their fourth album Domovina (2021) expanded their sonic palette even further, introducing elements of pop-folk and indie sensibility through collaborations with various guest artists.
The core of the band consists of Petar Beluhan and Vlado Mirčeta, alongside long-term collaborators such as Luka Geček and experienced producers. Known both for their studio complexity and emotionally rich live shows, Mayales has earned a loyal following and consistent critical acclaim.
In 2025, they released Boutique Pop Vol. 1, a record that continues their musical evolution and reaffirms their place among the most forward-thinking acts on the Croatian scene. A comeback concert at Zagreb’s Peti kupe marked a new chapter in their creative journey.
Mayales remains one of the few bands able to consistently reinvent themselves, combining musical sophistication with emotional depth and a fearless artistic vision.
