Martina Tomčić was born on May 6, 1975, in Umag, and spent her early years in Poreč and later Zagreb. She grew up in the Dubrava neighborhood, in a family with a strong cultural and political background — her father, Zlatko Tomčić, being a notable political figure.
She pursued music education in Graz, where she graduated in solo singing. In 1995 she won the International Singing Competition Ferruccio Tagliavini, and in the same year made her debut in Graz as Prince Orlofsky in Johann Strauss’s operetta Die Fledermaus. She introduced herself to Croatian audiences in 2001 with roles such as Preziosilla in La Forza del Destino in Zagreb and title role in Carmen in Osijek.
Beyond opera, Martina co-founded the vocal school Husar & Tomčić, where she works as a vocal pedagogue. She has appeared in television shows — she competed in Dancing with the Stars, later became a judge on Supertalent, and has served as vocal coach on Your Face Sounds Familiar.
Privately, she has been married to Ženja Moskaljov since 2003 and is a mother of two. Family life is important to her, and she strives to keep a balance between her public roles and private life.
Martina Tomčić is known for her exceptional technique and operatic interpretations, particularly as a mezzo-soprano. Through her music and teaching she contributes to the development of vocal artists, and through her television engagements she broadens the reach of her artistry — becoming a recognizable figure who bridges classical music with popular culture.
