Luka Vidović is a well-known Croatian magician, born on February 13, 1979, in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. He is the son of respected Croatian actors Ivica Vidović and Mirjana Majurec. Luka spent the first half of his elementary school years in Zagreb, and the second half in the French cities of Auxerre and Cannes. He completed his high school education at the “Tituš Brezovački” Gymnasium in Zagreb.
His passion for magic was inherited from his father, who occasionally performed magic tricks as part of his theater roles. A pivotal moment came in 1995 when his father gave him VHS tapes of performances by the world-renowned magician David Copperfield. Luka was deeply fascinated by the magic, illusions, stage lights, and especially by how the audience reacted with joy and laughter. This experience sparked his lifelong dedication to magic. He gave his first public performance just before turning 17, in January 1996, at the “Teatar itd.” in Zagreb.
During high school, he appeared on national television several times. After finishing high school, he enrolled in a double major in French language and phonetics at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, but left the studies after one year to focus on his magic career. At the same time, he auditioned and was admitted to the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb to study acting, recognizing the importance of stage presence for his profession.
His breakthrough came in 2000 with two sold-out solo shows at the Gavella Drama Theatre in Zagreb. Since then, Luka has been a sought-after performer, working with prestigious companies such as Coca-Cola, Samsung, Nokia, Sony Ericsson, and many others.
He frequently appears on Croatian national television and performs at major national events including the Split Festival and the Children’s New Year’s Eve celebration in Zagreb. In 2010, he was awarded the “Superbrands Croatia” status, and in 2013 he performed in Monte Carlo for His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco.
Fluent in Croatian, French, and English, Luka often works with international institutions and companies. He has released three editions of “Luka’s Magic Box,” all of which sold out. He also serves as a stage magic consultant for Croatian theatres and performs over 150 shows annually for audiences of all ages.
Luka Vidović currently lives and works in Zagreb, where he is recognized as one of Croatia’s leading magicians.
