Luka Nižetić, born on August 12, 1983 in Split, Croatia, is one of the country’s most beloved pop-rock artists of the past two decades. He first appeared on the national music scene at Dora 2003 with the song “Robot,” gaining wider recognition with his debut album Premijera (2005), which featured hits like “Proljeće” (Springtime), “Ponekad poželim” (Sometimes I Want), and “Ne krivi me” (Don’t Blame Me).
Nižetić followed up with studio albums Slobodno dišem (2007), Na tren i zauvijek (2008), Kad zasvira... (2013), Ljubav je mukte (2018), and Ludilo brale (2022). The latter included breakthrough tracks such as “Ludilo brale,” “Ae,” “Ostani dite,” “Zagrli život,” and “Kad se rodiš usrid Splita,” which achieved millions of streams and dominated Croatian radio charts. In 2022, he was named Male Performer of the Year at the Top.HR Music Awards.
His musical style combines Mediterranean pop, traditional Dalmatian elements, world-ethno sounds, and slick modern production. Collaborations like “Prava ljubav” with Lana Jurčević and enduring hits such as “Proljeće” have cemented his place in Croatia’s pop canon. He is a familiar face at major festivals including the Split Festival, Melodies of the Adriatic, Zagreb Radio Festival, and Dora.
Beyond music, Luka has appeared on television—winning Ples sa zvijezdama (Croatia’s Dancing with the Stars) in 2007 and later Celebrity MasterChef, where he showcased his passion for cooking. He divides his time between Split, Zagreb, and Komiža on the island of Vis, where he runs the Fabrika restaurant and explores his love for freediving.
Nižetić is celebrated for his authenticity, spontaneity, and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures: music, food, and the sea. His concerts are widely praised for emotional resonance and optimism, making him a cherished voice of joy in contemporary Croatian pop culture.
