Ludovico Einaudi (born November 23, 1955, in Turin) is an Italian pianist and composer renowned for his minimalist style that blends classical music with elements of pop, rock, and world music. He studied composition at the Milan Conservatory under Azio Corghi and furthered his studies with Luciano Berio and Karlheinz Stockhausen. Einaudi began his career as a classical composer but soon developed a distinctive personal style. His most notable albums include Le Onde (1996), Divenire (2006), In a Time Lapse (2013), and Seven Days Walking (2019). Einaudi's music is frequently featured in films and television, including soundtracks for movies like Nomadland and The Third Murder. During the pandemic, he recorded over 500 compositions, selecting 12 for his album Underwater (2022), his first solo piano album in 20 years. His work is characterized by introspection and emotional depth, earning him a global audience.
