Let 3 is a cult Croatian punk/alternative rock band formed in 1987 in Rijeka amidst the city’s vibrant post‑punk scene. Founders Damir “Mrle” Martinović (bass, vocals, effects) and Zoran “Prlja” Prodanović (vocals) continue to lead the band, joined by Ivan Bojčić (drums), Dražen Baljak (guitar, mandolin), and Matej Zec (guitar, backing tracks).
They are renowned for their provocative, often vulgar and satirical lyrics, and over-the-top performances involving nudity, oversized bronzes, and political theatre. Let 3 merges performance art with social commentary, targeting nationalism, conservatism, and societal taboos through shock, satire, and humor.
Their discography includes more than ten albums: debut Two Dogs Fuckin’ (1989), El Desperado (1991), the blank‑CD concept album Nečuveno (1997), and Jedina (2000) which initially existed in only one signed copy. Albums like Bombardiranje Srbije i Čačka (2005) confront war, masculinity, and identity using explicit satire.
In 2023, Let 3 represented Croatia at Eurovision with “Mama ŠČ!”, winning the national selection Dora and advancing to the final in Liverpool, where they placed 13th. Their performance featured theatrical staging with drag artist “Njinle”, tractors, and queer symbolism—propelling the song past a million views on YouTube.
Let 3 continues to perform across Croatia and Europe, delivering shows that blend music, art, and activism. They have become a symbolic rite of passage for Croatian youth: a concert by Let 3 is as much an experience as it is a statement in contemporary culture.
