Elvir Laković, better known as Laka, was born on March 15, 1969, in Goražde, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Although he attended music school and learned to play guitar, he soon abandoned formal music education, feeling it did not suit his creative expression. During the Bosnian War, he served in the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and after the war, he worked for various international organizations.
He began his music career in 1998 with the single "Malo sam se razočar'o," which became a major hit and launched his career. Successes followed with songs like "Vještica," "Mor'o," and "Piškila." In 2003, the song "Mor'o" won the Davorin Award for Best Rock Song of the Year. In 2007, Laka released his debut solo album "Zec," in collaboration with record labels Hayat Production and Menart.
In 2008, he represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade alongside his sister Mirela with the song "Pokušaj," which finished 10th in the final. Following this, Laka continued his successful career, releasing his second album "Stvorenje" in 2010, and songs like "Lizalo" and "Pubertet," which became popular among fans.
His musical style is often described as surreal pop, with songs featuring imaginative and humorous lyrics. Laka is known for his originality and unpretentiousness, and his ability to connect with the audience makes him unique in the music scene of Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond.
