Hollywood Vampires is an American rock supergroup formed in 2012 in Los Angeles by Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, and Joe Perry. The band is known for performing rock covers and paying tribute to influential musicians, particularly those who died in the 1970s.
The group takes its name from “The Hollywood Vampires,” a celebrity drinking club founded by Cooper in the 1970s. The modern band was created to revive the spirit of that era and celebrate the legacy of iconic rock artists.
In addition to the founding trio, Tommy Henriksen plays a key role as a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist. Over the years, the band’s touring lineup has included several well-known musicians such as Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum, and Robert DeLeo.
Their debut album Hollywood Vampires was released in 2015 and featured numerous guest appearances, including Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, and Joe Walsh. Their second studio album, Rise, followed in 2019 and focused more on original material, marking an evolution in their sound.
Musically, the band is rooted in hard rock, drawing strong influence from classic 1970s rock. They are known for energetic live performances and collaborations with various artists, frequently appearing at major festivals and concerts worldwide.
Although each member has an established solo career, Hollywood Vampires functions as a collaborative project that brings together experienced musicians to celebrate rock music heritage.
