Halid Bešlić is a renowned Bosnian singer of folk and pop-folk music, known for his emotional ballads and powerful voice. He began his career in the late 1970s performing in Sarajevo restaurants, releasing his first album, Sijedi starac, in 1981. During the 1980s, he gained popularity with hits like "Neću, neću dijamante," "Vraćam se majci u Bosnu," and "Hej, zoro, ne svani." During the Bosnian War, he held over 500 humanitarian concerts across Europe. After a serious car accident in 2009, he made a successful comeback. His later hits include "Miljacka," "Romanija," and "Kad zaigra srce od meraka." Bešlić is also an entrepreneur, owning a gas station and hotel near Sarajevo. His music remains a symbol of Bosnian sevdalinka and pop-folk, cherished for its authenticity and emotional depth.
