Gus G

Gus G., born Konstantinos Karamitroudis on September 12, 1980 in Thessaloniki, Greece, is a highly respected metal guitarist. From a young age he was immersed in music—his father sang folk songs and his household vinyl included rock legends. Inspired after hearing Frampton Comes Alive, Gus picked up guitar at age 10 and was practising intensively by his early teens. In the late 1990s he founded the band Firewind, which became his main artistic outlet, combining melodic power-metal with technical guitar work. He also collaborated with notable metal acts, and in 2009 became the lead guitarist for legendary frontman Ozzy Osbourne, serving in that role until 2017. Gus G.’s solo work features albums such as I Am the Fire, Brand New Revolution, and the instrumental Quantum Leap, showcasing not just speed and technique but also songwriting and musical depth. He is recognized for his blazing solos, strong melodic sense, and high-energy performances. Moreover, his signature gear and collaborations in equipment design underline his influence in the guitar world.
