Zlatan Stipišić Gibonni was born on August 13, 1968, in Split, Croatia. He is a singer-songwriter and musician known for emotional ballads blending rock, pop, and Dalmatian musical traditions. His father, Ljubo Stipišić Delmata, was a renowned Croatian composer and poet who influenced Gibonni's musical path.
He started his career in the mid-1980s with the heavy metal band Osmi Putnik, and after its breakup, joined the band Divlje jagode. Later, he began a successful solo career, becoming one of Croatia’s most popular musicians. His hits like "Činim pravu stvar" and "Divji cvit" are considered among the most emotional Croatian songs.
Throughout his career, Gibonni released many albums, including Mirakul (2001), Unca fibre (2006), Toleranca (2010), 20th Century Man (2013), and Familija (2016). Mirakul was the best-selling album in Croatia in 2001, and Unca fibre earned diamond and platinum certifications in the region.
Gibonni is also well-known for his humanitarian efforts. In 2003, he was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and actively participates in charity work fighting hunger and poverty.
