Gatuzo is a rock band from Zagreb, formed in 2004 as a minimalist duo by Damir Trkulja Šiljo (vocals, guitar) and Goran Martinjak (drums). They released their debut EP Temelji in 2006, marking the beginning of their serious music career.
Their first album Noge/ruke/glave came out in 2007 and earned them major accolades, including awards for best alternative rock album and best new band. The second album, ! (2009), was praised for its raw and direct indie rock sound.
In 2013, they released Gdje idemo, a more mature and polished album that confirmed Gatuzo as a key name in the Croatian rock scene. This was followed by Megalomania in 2014 and Van kontrole in 2019, both maintaining their strong and consistent rock identity.
In December 2024, they released the EP 360°, featuring four new tracks that introduced a refreshed sonic direction. In May 2025, the band released Subota, their sixth studio album, recorded live to capture their authentic energy. The album features eleven tracks, including the lead single “Ptica”, and showcases a broader lineup that adds melodic depth while preserving the band’s raw intensity.
Gatuzo is known for their explosive live performances and strong stage presence. They have played numerous festivals and collaborated with artists like Goran Bare and Saša Antić. Their music is defined by rawness, powerful rhythms, blues influences, and uncompromising energy.
