Fun. is an American indie rock band formed in 2008 in New York City. The band was founded by Nate Ruess (former member of The Format), Jack Antonoff (known for his work in Bleachers and as a producer), and Andrew Dost (former member of Anathallo). Their music style blends elements of indie rock, pop, and baroque pop.
Their second studio album Some Nights (2012) brought them international fame. The single "We Are Young," featuring Janelle Monáe, reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year. The album also includes hits such as "Some Nights" and "Carry On," which also charted highly.
Fun. won four Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist and Song of the Year. After the success of Some Nights, the band released a live album Before Shane Went to Bangkok: Live in the USA in 2013, but have not released new studio material since then.
