Fleetwood Mac is a British-American rock band formed in London in 1967. Originally rooted in blues rock under the leadership of guitarist Peter Green, the band achieved worldwide fame in the mid-1970s when Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham joined. The classic lineup—Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks, and Lindsey Buckingham—developed a unique sound that blended melodic pop rock with emotionally powerful lyrics.
Their landmark 1977 album, Rumours, remains one of the best-selling albums of all time, featuring hits like "Go Your Own Way", "Dreams", and "The Chain". Follow-up albums such as Tusk, Mirage, and Tango in the Night further solidified their reputation as one of the most influential bands in rock history.
Despite internal tensions and lineup changes over the years, Fleetwood Mac maintained their distinctive style and widespread popularity. The passing of Christine McVie in 2022 marked the end of an era, but the band's legacy endures through reissues, documentaries, and the continued musical presence of its members.
