Disclosure is an English electronic music duo formed by brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence from Reigate, Surrey. They rose to prominence in 2012 with their breakthrough single “Latch”, featuring Sam Smith, and followed with the debut album Settle (2013), which helped define modern UK garage and vocal house pop.
Their second album, Caracal (2015), featured collaborations with The Weeknd, Lorde, Miguel, Gregory Porter, and Sam Smith. It marked a shift toward more rhythm‑driven pop and R&B influences, with Howard stepping into lead vocals on several tracks.
In 2020, they released Energy, blending dance-floor sensibilities with soulful and hip-hop influences via collaborations with Aminé, Channel Tres, Kelis, Fatoumata Diawara, and slowthai. In 2023, Disclosure surprised fans by independently releasing the album Alchemy, featuring no guest artists and emphasizing personal songwriting and production.
Howard is the band's main songwriter and lead vocalist on many tracks, while Guy serves as the principal producer, handling technical aspects and sonic experimentation. Together, their sound is defined by polished production, melodic songwriting, and a distinctive visual identity.
Disclosure has been nominated for multiple Grammys and Brit Awards. Their live performances include headline slots at venues like Alexandra Palace and Madison Square Garden, as well as festivals such as Coachella. With millions of album sales and billions of streams, they remain one of the most influential electronic duos of their generation.
