Cory Wong is an American guitarist, composer, and producer from Minneapolis, renowned for his energetic style blending funk, jazz, and rock. He began his career performing in jazz clubs and collaborating with artists like Ben Rector and members of Prince's band. He gained wider recognition as a member of Vulfpeck and the instrumental group The Fearless Flyers. As a solo artist, he has released several albums, including The Optimist (2018), Motivational Music for the Syncopated Soul (2019), and The Lucky One (2023). His album Meditations with Jon Batiste was nominated for a Grammy in 2021. Wong is known for using his signature Fender Stratocaster model and collaborating with brands like Neural DSP. During the pandemic, he launched the musical-comedy YouTube show Cory and the Wongnotes, featuring live performances, interviews, and sketches. Wong remains one of the most active and innovative guitarists on today's instrumental scene.
