Coldplay is a British rock band formed in London in 1996. The band consists of vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, and drummer Will Champion. Their manager, Phil Harvey, is often considered their fifth member.
The band gained international fame in 2000 with the release of their debut album Parachutes, which featured the hit single "Yellow". The album won the Brit Award for British Album of the Year and a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. Subsequent albums, A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002) and X&Y (2005), continued their successful streak, with songs like "Clocks" and "Fix You" becoming global hits.
Their fourth album, Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), earned them a Grammy for Best Rock Album, and the title track "Viva la Vida" became the first song by a British band to simultaneously top the UK and US charts in the 21st century.

In October 2024, the band released their tenth studio album, Moon Music, which serves as a continuation of their previous album Music of the Spheres (2021). The album was produced by Max Martin and features collaborations with various musicians and genres.
