Biffy Clyro is a Scottish rock trio from Kilmarnock, formed in 1995. The band comprises frontman/guitarist Simon Neil and twin brothers James (bass) and Ben Johnston (drums). Initially exploring post-hardcore and experimental rock on albums like Blackened Sky and Infinity Land, they achieved breakthrough success in 2007 with Puzzle, reaching No. 2 on the UK charts and earning critical acclaim.
They followed up with Only Revolutions (2009), featuring hits like “Mountains” and “Many of Horror,” and the ambitious double album Opposites (2013). Their next three albums—Ellipsis (2016), A Celebration of Endings (2020), and The Myth of the Happily Ever After (2021)—all topped UK charts, showcasing their musical evolution from anthemic choruses and electronic experimentation to deeply personal themes of loss and renewal.
Biffy Clyro are known for their compelling live shows, regularly headlining major festivals such as Reading, Leeds, and Download. Their performances range from acoustic intimacy to full-scale rock power. With intricate rhythms, passionate vocals, and thoughtful production, they’ve built a devoted fanbase across Europe. Multiple NME and Kerrang awards underscore their impact, while their enduring output has helped redefine modern British rock.
