Annihilator

Annihilator is a Canadian thrash metal band formed in 1984 in Ottawa. Founded by Jeff Waters, who remains the band's sole constant member, Annihilator is known for its technical approach to thrash metal and energetic live performances. Their debut album, Alice in Hell (1989), is considered one of the most significant Canadian metal albums. This was followed by Never, Neverland (1990), which further solidified their status on the global metal scene. Subsequently, the band signed with a major label, Epic Records, leading to the release of Set the World on Fire (1993), which introduced a broader sound and higher production values. Over the years, Annihilator has undergone numerous lineup changes but has consistently maintained its distinctive style and quality. They continued to release albums such as Suicide Society (2015) and For the Demented (2017), showcasing their ability to adapt and innovate within the genre. The band is also known for collaborating with various musicians and producers, enriching their sound. Annihilator remains active in the music scene, performing worldwide and maintaining its position as one of Canada's most important metal acts.
