Alvaro Soler

Álvaro Tauchert Soler (born January 9, 1991, in Sant Cugat del Vallès, Spain) is a Spanish-German singer and songwriter who rose to international fame in 2015 with his hit single El mismo sol. The song was a major success across Europe and Latin America, and a version featuring Jennifer Lopez helped propel him to global recognition. In 2016, he released another hit, Sofia, which topped charts in several countries. He has released three studio albums so far: Eterno agosto (2015), Mar de colores (2018), and Magia (2021). His song La cintura became a pan-European hit and is one of his most well-known tracks. Born to a German father and a Spanish-Belgian mother, Soler spent part of his childhood in Japan, where he began studying music. After returning to Barcelona, he formed the band Urban Lights, then launched his solo career from Berlin in 2014. He speaks six languages and has served as a judge and coach on various music TV shows.
