Albano Antonio Carrisi, known globally as Al Bano, is a highly respected Italian singer, actor, and winemaker with a career spanning more than five decades. Originally from Puglia, he rose to fame in the Italian music scene in the 1960s with his breakout hit Nel sole, which quickly became a major success. Since then, he has sold over 25 million records worldwide, known for his remarkable four-and-a-half-octave vocal range.
He is best known for his long-time collaboration and marriage with Romina Power, with whom he performed for nearly 30 years. Together, they represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest and won the Sanremo Music Festival in 1984 with the song Ci sarà. Their timeless hits such as Felicità, Sharazan, Nostalgia canaglia, and Cara terra mia have become staples of European pop music. After 1996, he focused on a solo career with notable songs like È la mia vita and Ancora in volo.
