Festival Rovinj, also known as the Rovinj Summer Festival, is an international classical music festival founded in 1996 in Rovinj, Croatia. Over decades of continuous activity, it has developed into one of the most recognizable and significant cultural events in Croatia and on a broader European scale.
The festival was established by mezzo-soprano and artistic director Katja Markotić, inspired by her experience with both domestic and international festivals. Her vision shaped a concept focused on artistic excellence and diverse programming.
The program features a wide range of performances, including chamber orchestras, ensembles, and solo artists. Concerts are held in historically and culturally significant venues such as the Church of St. Euphemia, the Church of St. Francis, and the Multimedia Center, contributing to the festival’s unique atmosphere.
Throughout its history, the festival has hosted numerous distinguished artists from Europe, the United States, Russia, Japan, Korea, Australia, and Mexico. Thanks to its consistently high artistic standards and evolving program, Festival Rovinj has gained recognition as a relevant international chamber music festival.
Since its founding, more than 280 concerts have been organized, significantly contributing to the cultural life of the city and enriching its tourist offer. The festival is supported by the City of Rovinj, the local Tourist Board, and other partners who recognize its cultural importance.
Today, Festival Rovinj serves as an important platform for audiences to experience high-quality classical music performances while fostering international artistic collaboration and preserving a strong cultural tradition.
