Ricky Martin, born Enrique Martín Morales on December 24, 1971, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is one of the most famous Latin pop artists worldwide. He grew up in a musically gifted family and began his music career at a very young age, starting at six years old.
At twelve, he joined the popular boy band Menudo, gaining international recognition. After leaving the group, he launched a solo career and became a global pop star with hits like “Livin' la Vida Loca” and “La Copa de la Vida.” Besides music, he also acted in telenovelas and on Broadway.
In 2010, Ricky Martin publicly came out as gay and is currently married to artist Jwan Yosef, with whom he has four children. Over his career, he has sold more than 70 million albums worldwide and won numerous awards, including Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards.
In addition to music, he is active in humanitarian work, especially in LGBT+ rights and education.
