The City Stadium in Velika Gorica was constructed in 1987 for the Summer Universiade and officially opened during the event. Since then, it has served as a key sports facility in the city. The complex includes a main football pitch, an athletics track, and two stands—one of which is partially covered. The stadium has a capacity of approximately 8,000 spectators. HNK Gorica currently calls the stadium home, while previously NK Radnik was the primary tenant. It has also hosted matches for youth national teams, including the Croatia U-21 side. The venue has undergone several upgrades over the years, including the installation of seating throughout, infrastructure enhancements, and technical improvements. In the summer of 2025, plans include installation of a new playing surface featuring under-soil heating, automated irrigation, and a drainage system to further improve training and match conditions.
