The Puppet Theatre Zadar, founded in 1951, has since become a key institution in Croatian puppetry. Located in an adapted building of the Physical Education Hall, the theatre offers a rich repertoire of performances for children, youth, and adults. Special attention is given to the production of puppet works inspired by Croatian heritage. Through collaborations with various authors and artists, the theatre nurtures diverse puppet techniques and "live" acting. Its success is based on the continuous education of new puppet actors through specialized courses, ensuring the quality of performances. The theatre is known for its innovative approaches, such as the use of the Giugnola technique with movable puppets, and hosts numerous cultural events. With a permanent ensemble and collaborations with top artists, Puppet Theatre Zadar continues to be an important center for puppetry arts in Croatia.
