Zvjezdan Ružić is celebrated as one of Croatia’s leading jazz pianists and composers, known for his range from intimate solo performances to grand orchestral and cinematic compositions. He’s a five-time Porin award winner and has been named Best Jazz Pianist in Croatia six times—a recognition of his virtuosity and artistic consistency.
Born in 1988 in Rijeka, Ružić studied jazz piano in Klagenfurt and early on formed the Zvjezdan Ružić Sextet in 2014. Their debut album The Knightingale Cabaret (2015), followed by Elfin Farewell and Pandaland, marked his emergence on the international scene—culminating in a tour and album launch in Shanghai. His innovative project Pianotron, combining piano, Mellotron, and foot pedals, brought him widespread acclaim, while albums Delightful F and Inspiration earned new awards and Porin nominations.
In summer 2025, Ružić is set for a landmark performance at Opatija's open-air stage—premiering his album A Storm in a Teacup: a deeply personal musical journey of 33 orchestrated pieces brought to life with immersive audiovisual design. This event embodies the emotional depth, cinematic scale, and concert-level impact that define his artistic evolution.
