S.A.R.S., formed in Belgrade in 2006, stands for "Freshly Amputated Arm of Satriani," symbolizing the band's raw creative energy and their ambition to claim a piece of guitar genius for themselves. The founding members hailed from diverse musical backgrounds, which contributed to the band's unique, genre-blending sound.
They gained their initial breakthrough with the song "Buđav lebac" released online without any traditional media support, quickly becoming a viral hit across the former Yugoslav states. This momentum led to their debut album S.A.R.S. in 2009, followed by others such as Perspektiva (2011), Kuća časti, Ikone pop kulture, Proleće, Poslednji album, and Glava (2019). Their music fuses pop-rock, reggae, blues, jazz, hip-hop, and traditional Serbian folk elements into a vibrant and distinctive sound.
S.A.R.S. represents the essence of the new Serbian music scene—artists who break free from genre constraints and embrace creativity. Known for their powerful live performances and socially conscious lyrics, they have established themselves as one of the most influential and innovative bands in the region.
