Nothing But Thieves are an English rock band formed in 2012 in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. The group consists of vocalist Conor Mason, guitarists Joe Langridge-Brown and Dominic Craik, bassist Philip Blake, and drummer James Price. From the beginning, the band attracted attention through a combination of powerful rock arrangements, emotionally charged songwriting, and Mason’s distinctive vocal range, quickly establishing themselves as one of the most exciting emerging acts in British alternative rock.
The band spent its early years building a following through live performances and a series of EP releases. Their breakthrough came in 2014 when they signed with RCA Records, a move that significantly expanded their reach. Around the same time, their music began receiving support from major radio stations and music media outlets, while touring opportunities with artists such as Gerard Way, AWOLNATION, Twenty One Pilots, and Muse introduced them to wider international audiences.
In 2015, Nothing But Thieves released their self-titled debut album. Featuring tracks such as “Trip Switch,” “Itch,” and “If I Get High,” the record established the band as a major new force in modern rock. The album’s success led to extensive touring and growing recognition across Europe, North America, and other international markets.
Their second album, “Broken Machine,” released in 2017, marked a significant creative and commercial milestone. The record reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and featured fan favorites including “Amsterdam,” “Sorry,” and “Particles.” The album demonstrated the band’s ability to combine anthemic rock songwriting with emotional depth and contemporary production.
Following the release of the EP “What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way?” in 2018, the band continued to evolve with their third studio album, “Moral Panic,” released in 2020. The project explored themes of anxiety, modern society, and personal reflection, further expanding their artistic identity.
In 2023, Nothing But Thieves achieved a new career high with the release of “Dead Club City,” their fourth studio album and first UK number-one record. Supported by successful singles such as “Welcome to the DCC” and “Overcome,” the album reinforced their position as one of the leading contemporary rock bands in the United Kingdom.
Today, Nothing But Thieves are recognized for their dynamic live performances, genre-blending sound, and powerful songwriting, earning a reputation as one of the defining rock acts of their generation.
