Mile Kekin is a Croatian singer, songwriter, and actor, best known as the frontman of the punk rock band Hladno pivo. He was born on January 11, 1971, in Bretten, Germany, and spent his childhood in Tuzla and Zagreb. Professionally, he is a teacher of English and German. He began his music career in 1988 by founding the band Hladno pivo, which became one of the most influential and beloved bands in the Croatian music scene.
Throughout their career, Hladno pivo released numerous albums, including Džinovski (1993), G.A.D. (1995), Desetka (1997), Pobjeda (1999), Šamar (2003), Knjiga žalbe (2007), Svijet glamura (2011), and Dani zatvorenih vrata (2015). The band has won many awards and achieved cult status in Croatia and the region.
In parallel with his work in Hladno pivo, Kekin was a member of the group Putnici in 2001, releasing the album U dva oka. After Hladno pivo announced a hiatus in 2015, Kekin focused on his solo career. His first solo album, Kuća bez krova, was released in 2018, followed by Nježno đonom in 2023.
Besides his music career, Kekin has acted in films and TV series, including Bitange i princeze, Zakon!, and Pjevajte nešto ljubavno. He also appeared in the biographical film about Dražen Petrović.
Privately, Kekin is married to psychiatrist Ivana Novosel, with whom he has a son, Vito, and a daughter, Miša. Ivana Kekin is active in Croatian politics, having been a presidential candidate and a member of parliament. Mile Kekin is also known for his social engagement, often commenting on political and social issues through his music and public appearances.
