Klapa Iskon is a Croatian vocal ensemble founded in 2000, known for combining traditional Dalmatian klapa singing with contemporary musical elements. Throughout its long career, the group achieved notable success at festivals and music events across Croatia and collaborated with artists such as Gibonni, Luky, and the group TBF. The ensemble has also performed internationally, including concerts in Israel, Paris, Los Angeles, and Monte Carlo.
Klapa Iskon is recognized for a diverse repertoire ranging from traditional Dalmatian songs to modern arrangements and contemporary musical interpretations. Their goal is to promote Dalmatian musical heritage while preserving the authenticity of klapa singing and bringing the tradition closer to modern audiences. Their performances often combine elements of tradition with contemporary sound, creating concert programs that function as musical journeys through Dalmatia and its cultural history.
During their career, the group has performed songs inspired by Dalmatian cities, islands, and writers such as Arsen Dedić, Tin Ujević, and Jakša Fiamengo, emphasizing a strong connection with Dalmatian identity and poetic tradition. Their musical expression is based on multipart vocal harmonies, emotional interpretation, and contemporary arrangements.
In 2016, the ensemble released a cover version of Dobra večer, prijatelji, which became highly successful among audiences and radio listeners, followed by an album of the same name later that year. The current lineup consists of Ante Blažević, Zvonimir Kovačić, Alen Babić, Ivan Žanić, and Vedran Harašić, musicians with backgrounds ranging from classical music and jazz to pop and rock.
