Jarboli

Jarboli is a Belgrade-based rock band founded in the early 1990s. The members include Daniel Kovač (guitar/vocals), Boris Mladenović (guitar/vocals), Žolt Kovač (bass guitar), and Nemanja Aćimović (drums). Their sound blends garage rock, punk, and experimental styles, and their performances are known for dadaistic set designs and theatrical costumes. Their first recordings emerged in 1996 on a limited cassette release titled Čizmanoga, featuring studio tracks and live recordings. Their debut studio album Dobrodošli was released in 1999 and earned them cult status in the alternative music scene. They followed up with EP Samo ponekad, the full-length Suvišna sloboda (18-track LP), and the electro‑infused EP Uslovna sloboda (2003), which gained significant attention. Subsequent releases included the live album Jedan čovek, jedna rezolucija (2005), and studio albums Buđanje proleća (2006) and Zabava (2011). After a period of inactivity, they returned in 2015 with the single “Mladost”, and at the end of 2024 they released a new album called Probaj golog muškarca. In April 2025 they performed in Zagreb’s Vintage Industrial Bar to promote the album, marking their return to live shows after years of absence. Regarded as one of the most influential and cult bands in the Belgrade independent music scene, Jarboli describe their own style as “East European rock’n’roll”. Their expressive live performances and evocative sound continue to attract a dedicated and emotional fan base.
