Father is a Croatian alternative metal band from Rijeka, formed in March 2000 originally under the name Easyman. The band’s lineup comprised Mihael Prošen (vocals), Davor Tomić (guitar), Dario Pažanin (guitar), Franjo Jardas (bass), and Saša Vukosav (drums). In October 2005, they released their debut album Inspirita through Dallas Records, gaining both critical acclaim and commercial success. Songs like “Cynosure” and “Machina” further showcased their distinctive sound.
In the early to mid-2000s, Father shared stages with notable acts such as Apocalyptica, Anthrax, and Korn. In 2006, they signed with UK label Revol Records to distribute Inspirita abroad. That October, they embarked on their first international tour with 13 shows across the United Kingdom, followed by additional performances in the UK, Netherlands, and Austria in 2007 and 2008.
Their sophomore album One Eon arrived on 14 December 2010, featuring a stirring cover of the Beatles classic “Eleanor Rigby”, which even received exposure on BBC radio. Promoting the album, Father played a special Christmas Eve concert in their hometown, Rijeka. The album quickly earned recognition among Croatian critics as one of the year’s best.
In 2008, original drummer Saša Vukosav departed, succeeded by Marko Jurić. Despite lineup changes over time, the band’s creative drive remained intact. Father continues to perform actively in Croatia and the region, appearing at festivals and on tours, solidifying their reputation as a leading force in the Croatian alternative scene.
