Eva Braun is a Serbian pop-rock band from Bečej, founded in spring 1991 in Novi Sad. The group originally featured Milan Glavaški (guitar/vocals), Petar Dolinka (guitar/vocals), Goran Vasović (bass/vocals), and Ljuba Rajić (drums), later joined by Goran Obradović, Albert Šeregelj, and Zvonko Stojkov. Their provocative name was embraced as a bold artistic statement.
Rooted in British guitar-pop tradition, the band became known for poetic lyrics, rich melodies, and introspective songwriting. They began recording demos in 1985, but their full debut album Prisluškivanja arrived in 1992, featuring tracks like “Sva tvoja ćutanja,” “Kuća lutaka,” and “Dan pobede.”
Their landmark album Heart Core (1998) marked a turning point—one of the most successful records of its era in the former Yugoslavia. It includes standout songs such as “Lavirint,” “Mala prodavnica užasa,” and a haunting rendition of “Odvedi me iz ovog grada,” featuring actor Sergej Trifunović. Heart Core remains hailed as a creative pinnacle and loved by multiple generations.
In 2001, they released Everest with the single “Meg Ryan Blues.” After a hiatus, they reformed in 2007 in their original lineup and performed a reunion show in Bečej. Their comeback album Playback (2011) ushered in a new wave of activity. Later singles include “Put za Lisabon,” “Rikošet,” “Kao kišna kap,” “Ti si sve,” “Jadransko more,” and “Komadić koji nedostaje.”
Notably, they performed Heart Core in its entirety during a 2023–2024 concert cycle in Belgrade to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Eva Braun is celebrated for combining lyrical depth with melodic excellence, holding a prestigious place in the ex-Yu indie rock and pop-rock heritage.
