Daleka obala was a rock band from Split, Croatia, active from 1985 to 2001, known for blending modern rock, blues, and Dalmatian musical elements. The band was founded by Marijan Ban and Boris Hrepić, with Jadran Vušković and Zoran Ukić joining in 1988. Their first concert in this lineup took place on November 27, 1988, in Split, marking the beginning of their successful career.
The band gained popularity by performing songs in the Dalmatian dialect, combining elements of rock and blues with local themes. Their debut album, Daleka obala, was released in 1990, followed by albums such as Ludi mornari dolaze u grad (1992), Mrlje (1993), Morski pas (1994), Di si ti (1997), Od mora do mora (1998), and 1999-2000 (1999). On the final album, Marijan Ban sings only a few songs, with the rest performed by Jadran Vušković and Neno Belan.
After the band broke up in 2001, the members continued their musical careers in various projects. Marijan Ban and Jadran Vušković formed the group Marijan Ban i ostali, while Zoran Ukić and Boris Hrepić created the band The Obala. In 2019, Daleka obala reunited and held a concert in Split, and in 2022, they released the live album Live Dom Sportova Zagreb 2022.
