DA2 – the Zagreb Design, Art & Architecture Film Festival (or simply DA2 Film Festival), founded in 2019 by the Pari Pikule association, is the region's first festival entirely dedicated to films about design, architecture, and art. The festival presents Croatian premieres of exclusive films that explore human creativity and the fields of visual and performing arts, architecture, and design. DA2 is conceived as a platform connecting diverse artistic disciplines and communities, offering a space for creative engagement, the exchange of experiences, inspiration, and promotion. Films compete for the Iskra Award, presented by an international jury to the most inspiring film. Over the course of seven editions, audiences have had the opportunity to watch films about numerous prominent artists, musicians, architects, and creatives—such as Annie Lennox, Patricia Field, Marina Abramović, Maurizio Cattelan, Bjarke Ingels, Jeff Koons, John Utzon, Renzo Piano, Bruce Mau, and many others. Film screenings are accompanied by "Šta DA?" (What Now?) talks, featuring distinguished filmmakers, creatives, designers, and architects whose fields are touched upon by the films themselves. DA2 takes place annually in October, distinguishing itself not only through its film program but also through its unique atmosphere. It is a significant event for the cultural scenes of Zagreb and the wider region, appealing to cinephiles and art lovers who share the vision that art is present all around us—through design, architecture, and film.
